Hoshiarpur:- Various development works worth about ?4.52 crore are being completed to further improve the infrastructure and facilities available to the people in Kot Fatuhi village, while many works are under progress and some works have been approved. MLA from Chabbewal Dr. Ishank Kumar recently visited Kot Fatuhi and met the people and along with reviewing various development works, also laid the foundation stone of a new dispensary.
Giving information about the road infrastructure, Dr. Ishank Kumar said that many important road projects have been completed to ease the traffic of Kot Fatuhi and nearby villages. These include the work of 5.18 km long Kot Fatuhi-Mannanhana-Chakk Musa Datta Chela road from Mahalpur-Phagwara road to Mannanhana Gurdwara bridge completed at a cost of ?86.77 lakh, the work of 2.56 km long Kot Fatuhi-Mannanhana road completed at a cost of ?55.01 lakh, the work of 0.62 km long Kot Fatuhi-Garhshankar-Jhajj road completed at a cost of ?20.48 lakh and the work of 1.60 km long Bhagtupur-Kot Fatuhi road completed at a cost of ?33.63 lakh.
He further informed that the work of 4.25 km long Kot Fatuhi-Banga via Behbalpur M.C. Limited road is in progress at a cost of ?1.44 crore. Apart from this, ?81.53 lakh has been sanctioned for the 0.91 km long Kot Fatuhi-Panchta to Ajnoha road and ?13.11 lakh for the 0.76 km long Kot Fatuhi Gurdwara to Harijan Basti road and their work will be started soon.
Apart from road connectivity, various works are also being done to improve other basic facilities in the village. Work worth ?2 lakh has been completed for streets and drains, while a grant of ?4.67 lakh has been sanctioned for sewerage. A grant of ?5 lakh has been given for the roof of the Dharamshala near Madho. Apart from this, ?5 lakh has been provided for the construction of a community hall and ?70 thousand for installing solar street lights in the village.
Dr. Ishank Kumar said that with the construction of the new dispensary, the people of Kot Fatuhi and the surrounding areas will be able to get basic health facilities near them. He said that special attention is being paid to strengthening roads, streets, drains, sewerage, health facilities and other public facilities to ensure balanced development of the villages. Addressing the people, the MLA said that the legitimate development demands of the people of the constituency are being resolved on priority basis and efforts are being made to ensure that the benefits of development reach every section of the constituency. On this occasion, Zila Parishad Member Dr. Vipan Panchanangal, Samiti Member Sukhwinder Kaur, Block President Kushav Karan, Malkit Ram Sonu, Gurmail Singh Atwal, Darshana Devi, Gurmail Singh, Balkar Singh, Sandeep Singh Kalupur, Panch Vandana Devi, Panch Jaswinder Kaur and other dignitaries of the village were present.
