Una, September 24:- Under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, efforts to empower the agriculture sector with technology are progressing rapidly in Himachal Pradesh. As part of this initiative, 43,822 farmers in Una district have been linked with the Digital Farmer Registry under the AgriStack project. Through the Digital Registry, farmers are being provided an integrated digital identity, which will help make access to government schemes and agricultural services simpler, more transparent and time-bound.
Information related to farmers to be available on a single platform
Deputy Director Agriculture, Una, Prem Singh said that under AgriStack, information related to farmers’ identity, land records, crop details and various government schemes will be available on a digital platform. Each registered farmer will be provided an Aadhaar-based 11-digit Unique Farmer ID, which will be useful in the future for various agricultural services, verification of documents and availing benefits under government schemes.
Access to schemes to become easier
He said that the Digital Farmer Registry will reduce the need for farmers to submit documents repeatedly for various schemes. The system will help make access to facilities such as the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, Chief Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi, crop insurance, Kisan Credit Card and procurement of crops at Minimum Support Price simpler and more transparent.
Digital Crop Survey creating accurate record of crops
Prem Singh said that the Digital Crop Survey of Kharif crops is also being carried out rapidly in the district. So far, 2,65,760 surveys have been conducted, of which 2,30,301 surveys have been approved. Through mobile apps and GPS technology, fields are being mapped and actual crop details are being recorded. This will help in better planning of agricultural schemes and in delivering services to eligible farmers.
The Farmer Registry will also help in providing scientific agricultural advice based on information related to land, crops, soil and climate. At the same time, it will make the transparent distribution of government assistance and identification of eligible farmers easier.
Free registration at Lok Mitra Kendras
The Deputy Director of Agriculture said that farmers who have not yet been registered can get themselves registered free of cost through their nearest Lok Mitra Kendra or the AgriStack portal. Aadhaar card, any Khasra number of the land and a mobile number linked with Aadhaar are required for registration.
The Agriculture Department is conducting a village-to-village campaign to create awareness among farmers. As many as 67 Farmer Registry camps are being organised in different areas of the district till September 30, where farmers are being provided registration facilities on the spot.
He urged farmers to reach the designated date, time and place and get their Farmer Registry completed. Officials and employees of the Agriculture Department will provide necessary assistance to farmers in completing the registration process at the camps.
Una moving towards digital farming
Initiatives such as AgriStack and the Farmer Registry are playing an important role in taking the agriculture sector from the traditional system towards a technology-based system. The linking of more than 43,000 farmers of Una with the Digital Registry is an important step towards adopting modern agricultural services in the district. This will help make agricultural services more effective, transparent and farmer-centric in the coming times.
Deputy Commissioner urges farmers to register
Deputy Commissioner Una Jatin Lal has appealed to all eligible farmers of the district to ensure their registration on the AgriStack portal in time. He said that the Digital Farmer Registry will help deliver the benefits of government schemes and agricultural services to farmers in a simpler, more transparent and time-bound manner.
