Chandigarh, September 13:- Haryana Public Works (Building and Roads) and Public Health Engineering Minister Shri Ranbir Singh Gangwa said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini, development works and infrastructure facilities across the state are being given new momentum. Work on projects worth hundreds of crores of rupees has already begun at a rapid pace to strengthen the drinking water supply in Mahendragarh district.
Shri Gangwa was interacting with journalists on Sunday after attending the Pratibha Samman Samaroh organised by Shri Vishwakarma Social and Educational Institution in Nangal Chaudhary.
He said that priority is being given to projects in the Nangal Chaudhary area adjoining the Rajasthan border, as it is a tail-end area. The Minister said that three new independent waterworks are being constructed at Sirohi Bahali, Musnota and Asrawas for the Nangal Chaudhary area at a cost of about Rs. 284 crore. This will benefit 39 villages connected with the Lahroda water supply scheme, including Nangal Durg and Nangal Chaudhary (Mohanpur). Work has commenced under the Sirohi Bahali package and excavation of the storage tank is underway, while tenders for the other two packages have been opened and work orders will be issued soon.
Besides this, he said that work is also underway on a scheme costing about Rs. 226 crore to strengthen the drinking water system of Narnaul city. Under the scheme, the capacity of all five waterworks in the city will be increased and dozens of old boosting stations will be strengthened. He said that a scheme of about Rs. 35 crore has also been prepared for strengthening the canal-based waterworks at Kutbapur, Rampura, Barkoda and Seehma in the district and for constructing a new waterworks for the villages of Khampur-Khaspur. This will provide clean drinking water to 18 villages.
He directed the officials to ensure that the work on all projects is completed within the stipulated time frame and in a quality manner, so that the people across the district can get relief at the earliest.
