Chandigarh, November 20:- Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that developing Panchkula city as a model city equipped with modern urban facilities is the priority of the government. For this, the Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority (PMDA) is working on strengthening other facilities along with the structural development of the city. He gave guidelines to the officials to further improve the overall development, cleanliness and infrastructure of Panchkula.

Quality, safe and smooth road network should be developed in the city
The Chief Minister, while giving clear instructions, said that it is very important that the condition of all the roads in the city should be improved. He directed the officials that the places where the roads are muddy or need repair, should be repaired immediately on priority basis. The Chief Minister, while giving instructions to the officials, said that special attention should be paid to cleanliness in Panchkula. He emphasized on the beautification of parks, roads and public places of the city and gave instructions to give priority to the repair and maintenance of footpaths and improvement of the quality of roads.
He said that if there is a problem of stray animals, it should be resolved immediately. Emphasis was also laid on making the city's intersections attractive and properly lit. The Chief Minister also directed the officials to ensure adequate water supply in Kaushalya Dam keeping in mind the needs of Panchkula region.
The Chief Minister said that special attention should be paid to the intersections, green belts and parks to give a new direction to the beautification of urban areas. Under this, public places should be made more attractive by planting different types of attractive flowers. Also, to enhance the beauty of the green belt, regular maintenance of plants and pruning of trees should be done, which will not only beautify the city but also provide a clean, green and healthy environment to the citizens.
Development works in progress in the city at a cost of Rs 45.14 crore
During the meeting, Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority (PMDA) Chief Executive Officer Mr. K. Makrand Pandurang informed that administrative approval of Rs 173.48 crore has been granted for the construction of a world class shooting range sports complex in Sector 32, Panchkula and the subsequent processes will be completed soon.
It was also informed in the meeting that 58 roads, 11 parks, 3 water treatment plants and 3 sewage treatment plants were handed over to PMDA. 39 works related to road repair, beautification of parks and proper drainage system have been completed at a cost of Rs 34.94 crore, while 59 works at a cost of Rs 45.14 crore are currently in progress. The meeting also discussed in detail the proposed Atal Park in MDC Sector-1.
