Una, January 16: Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri on Friday formally laid the foundation stone for the construction of a road project costing approximately Rs. 15.37 crore in Panjawar, in the Haroli assembly constituency. The funds for this project have been provided from the MLA's fund. The roads included in this project are: “from Madhu ki Nihali to Shri Madan's house, Lower Panjawar to Saini Mohalla, Mohalla Dhakki to Daulatpur, and from Nagnauli Petrol Pump (Ward No. 5) to Shiv Temple, Panjawar”.
He informed that the funds for this project have been provided from the MLA's fund. Approximately 70 percent of the road construction work will be done using cement-concrete technology and will be completed and dedicated to the public within eight months.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that various development works worth approximately Rs. 2500 crore will be undertaken in the Haroli assembly constituency during 2026. He said that the completion of these development projects will create a new picture of development in Haroli and this area will appear in a new form on the development map of the state.
**Strengthening the network of roads and bridges**
The Deputy Chief Minister said that with the aim of ensuring better transport facilities in the Haroli assembly constituency, the extensive network of roads is being further strengthened. In this regard, the construction of the Panjawar-Pandoga road has recently been completed at a cost of Rs. 11.50 crore, which has provided great convenience to the people of the area.
He informed that approximately Rs. 132 crore is being spent on the construction of 11 bridges in the Haroli assembly constituency. Among these, the construction of the Pandoga-Tyuri bridge at a cost of Rs. 50 crore is in progress and will be completed and dedicated to the public soon.
**Mian Hira Singh State Cooperative Training Center and Community Hall being built at a cost of ?10 crore**
He said that Panjawar village holds a unique identity across the country as the birthplace of the cooperative movement, and today this historic land is writing a new chapter of development. The Mian Hira Singh State Cooperative Training Center and Community Hall is being constructed here at a cost of ?10 crore. In addition, the embankment work of the Sir Nala is also underway at a cost of ?13 crore.
**Emphasis on strengthening sports infrastructure**
The Deputy Chief Minister said that concrete steps are also being taken to strengthen the sports infrastructure in the area. An indoor stadium is being constructed at Government College Khadd at a cost of ?13 crore. Meanwhile, the installation of floodlights at Khadd Football Stadium is in progress at a cost of ?46 lakh.
**Diverse stages of development**
The Deputy Chief Minister informed that an automatic vehicle testing center is being established at Roda in Haroli at a cost of ?5 crore. In addition, the construction of a traffic park at a cost of ?8 crore and a rest house at a cost of ?7 crore is also underway.
The construction of a heliport at Roda at a cost of ?13 crore is also progressing rapidly. The completion of these projects will create new employment opportunities along with improving basic amenities in the area.
**?1000 crore being spent on drinking water and irrigation facilities in Una**
Mr. Agnihotri said that approximately ?1000 crore is being spent on drinking water and irrigation facilities in Una district. Meanwhile, ?100 crore will be spent on the remodeling of tube wells in the Haroli assembly constituency, which will ensure long-term and improved irrigation facilities for the farmers.
On this occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister also inaugurated the library "Samarthya Gyan Deep Kendra" in Panjawar.
**Sheetla Mata Temple being built in Ispur at a cost of Rs. 6.50 crore**
Later, he reviewed the progress of the grand construction of the Sheetla Mata Temple being built in Ispur at a cost of Rs. 6.50 crore, aimed at promoting religious tourism. He said that modern facilities would be developed here for the convenience of devotees. The construction of the Ispur to Damamiya road has also provided great convenience to the local people.
**Inspection of construction work at Haroli College building**
Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister also inspected the state-of-the-art building of Haroli College, which is being constructed at a cost of Rs. 12.70 crore. He informed that modern educational facilities, along with a stage, cafeteria, open gym, volleyball and badminton courts, are being developed there.
He said that this college would prove to be a strong center for education, sports, and all-round development for the youth of the region.
On this occasion, senior Congress leader Ranjit Singh Rana, Nagnauli Pradhan Mehtab Thakur, SDM Haroli Vishal Sharma, and other dignitaries were present.
