Fatehabad, 6th August:- Under Operation Jeevan Jyoti being run in the district, the de-addiction campaign is being conducted continuously and effectively. In this sequence, the de-addiction teams reached various villages and met drug victims and their family members and motivated them for treatment, counseling and rehabilitation. The main objective of the campaign is to connect people struggling with drug addiction to the mainstream of society and to lead them towards a healthy and drug-free life.
In the same sequence, under the leadership of Sub-Inspector Sunder Lal, the de-addiction team Fatehabad, after participating in the awareness seminar organized at Government Senior Secondary School, Nagpur, made the general public aware about the ill effects of drugs in village Hanspur. During this, the team identified 8 drug victims, out of which 3 victims found present were counseled and provided Ayurvedic and Homeopathic medicines. The family members of the remaining victims were motivated to get them admitted to the government hospital for their treatment. Apart from this, follow-up of the victims under treatment in villages Hadauli and Jallopur was taken and 3 previously identified drug victims were admitted to Community Health Center, Ratia.
On the other hand, under the leadership of Assistant Sub-Inspector Sajjan Kumar, the de-addiction campaign team of Tohana division met drug victims in village Samain and assessed their current condition. The team counseled 4 drug victims found on the spot, in whom some improvement was found. Other victims were visited at their homes and their family members were interacted with to get information about their health condition and those who still have drug addiction were motivated to restart treatment. During the campaign, information also came to light about an HIV positive drug victim who quit drugs and took sanyas, which the team described as an example of positive change.
Under the campaign today, medicines were provided to 11 drug victims of Tohana area from the government hospital and 3 patients were admitted to the hospital for better treatment. The de-addiction teams of the police appealed to the general public that if any person around them is in the grip of drugs, then cooperate with the administration in providing social support and proper treatment to him, so that the goal of making the district drug-free can be realized.
