Ambala, September 13:- As part of the "Organisation Building Programme" of the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, workers’ conferences are being held from September 1 to September 30 across 180 Block Congress Committees in the state. As part of this programme, a Block Congress Committee Workers’ Conference was organised in Ambala today by Ambala Block Congress Committee president Vinod Dhiman. AICC Secretary and Co-incharge of Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee Jatinder Baghel attended the conference as the chief guest, while Ambala City MLA Chaudhary Nirmal Singh presided over the event. A large number of Congress workers participated in the conference and pledged to further strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level.
Addressing the workers, AICC Secretary and Co-incharge of Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee Jatinder Baghel launched a sharp attack on the BJP government. He said that today Haryana has become the number one state in crime, unemployment and corruption, whereas during the tenure of the Congress government, Haryana was the leading state in the country in terms of per capita income.
He said that the Chief Minister of Haryana goes to Punjab and makes tall claims that he has made Haryana crime-free and that if the BJP forms the government, Punjab too will be made crime-free, but the ground reality is completely different. Baghel said that today criminals in the state are so emboldened that they first threaten businessmen and then demand ransom. If a businessman refuses to pay the ransom, he is shot despite the presence of police surveillance. He alleged that criminals are roaming freely and the government has failed to maintain law and order. He said that today the people of the country have faith in the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi. The people of Haryana will give an appropriate response to the BJP, which came to power through politics of caste, religion and discrimination.
Emphasising the role of the organisation, Jatinder Baghel said that workers are the backbone of any political party. The objective of the block-level meetings being held under the organisation-building campaign is to reach out to the party’s grassroots workers and listen to their voices. He said that through these meetings, the views and suggestions of workers are being understood and the organisation is being strengthened.
Presiding over the conference, former Haryana Cabinet Minister and Ambala City MLA Chaudhary Nirmal Singh said that the strength of any political party lies in its organisation. He said that since the day Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee in-charge Sanjay Dutt and co-in-charge Jatinder Baghel took charge of Haryana, continuous efforts have been made to strengthen the Congress organisation in the state. He said that the BJP governments at the Centre and in the state had come to power by making false promises, but now the public is disappointed with them. He said that the BJP government in Haryana has lost the confidence of the people and the people of the state will respond in the future.
Nirmal Singh called upon party workers to work hard and unitedly to strengthen the organisation at the booth level and to raise the issues and voices of ordinary people forcefully.
Conference organiser and president of Ambala Block Congress Committee Vinod Dhiman said that holding a position in the party is not merely an honour but a major responsibility. He said that every office-bearer and worker should discharge this responsibility with complete honesty and work shoulder to shoulder with every party worker. He said that Congress workers should raise a strong voice against the anti-people policies of the BJP government and raise public issues from the streets to the Legislative Assembly and Parliament. Vinod Dhiman assured Jatinder Baghel and Chaudhary Nirmal Singh that efforts would be made to make Ambala Assembly Block Congress Committee number one among the 180 blocks of Haryana in terms of struggle, organisation and raising issues of public interest.
During the conference, the leaders appealed to the workers to strengthen the organisation through mutual unity, discipline and dedication. The workers resolved to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level. Former MLA Jasbir Malour, urban district president Pawan Aggarwal Dimpy, Rakesh Mehlla, Rohit Jain, Rohit Sharma Vishu, Harjit Singh Babbar, Mithun Verma, Ishu Goel, Kuldeep Singh Gullu, Komal Jain, Rajwinder Kaur and other leaders were mainly present on the occasion.
