Chandigarh, September 11:- Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that the Congress ruled the country for nearly 55 years, but even today it cannot say how many people were lifted out of the poverty line during its tenure. In contrast, as a result of the policies and schemes implemented for the welfare of the poor under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, nearly 25 crore citizens have come out of the poverty line. He said that the 25 years of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's public life have been a journey of service, good governance, welfare of the poor and dedication to the nation, the positive change of which is being experienced by the people of the country themselves today.
Addressing a press conference organised in Panchkula regarding the ‘Seva Sankalp Campaign’, the Chief Minister said that the Congress has neither a policy, nor an issue, nor any concrete agenda to compete with the work of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Therefore, Congress leaders try to defame the Prime Minister by carrying scripts written elsewhere, but the people of the country are witnesses to the Prime Minister's 25 years of continuous service, sacrifice and dedication.
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has served the country and its people without stopping or tiring. Instead of using abusive language against the Prime Minister, the Congress should introspect and reflect on the work it did for the poor, women and youth during its long tenure.

Congress Had Data on the Poor, But No Account of How Many Were Lifted Out of Poverty
The Chief Minister said that during the Congress regime, the poor became poorer. The Congress had data on people living below the poverty line, but even today it cannot say how many poor people were lifted out of poverty during its tenure.
He said that the Congress exploited the poor for decades. In contrast, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi placed the dignity of the poor and improvement in their standard of living at the centre of the government's policies. It is the result of this approach towards the welfare of the poor that nearly 25 crore citizens have come out of the poverty line.
The Chief Minister said that providing a permanent roof to the poor is an important part of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's approach towards the welfare of the poor. Nearly 1 lakh 60 thousand houses have been constructed and provided to poor families in Haryana. This is not merely about providing a permanent roof, but an important step towards providing poor families with dignity, security and a better future.

While Mocking Modi, Congress Was Mocking the Dignity of Poor Women
The Chief Minister said that those who ruled the country for 55 years did not see the suffering of poor mothers, sisters and daughters. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi got nearly 12 crore toilets constructed across the country and worked to provide women with ‘Izzat Ghar’. When the Prime Minister announced his resolve to construct toilets from the ramparts of the Red Fort, the Congress mocked that initiative as well.
He said that at that time, the Congress failed to understand that it was not mocking Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, but the dignity of those poor mothers, sisters and daughters of the country whose homes did not even have toilet facilities.
The Chief Minister said that even during the coronavirus pandemic, the Congress raised questions about the vaccine and attempted to create confusion among the people. Congress leaders themselves got vaccinated, but discouraged poor and ordinary citizens of the country from taking the vaccine. He said that misleading people about the vaccine during that difficult period of the pandemic was like putting their health and lives at risk.
He said that today, the Congress is witnessing the consequences of this election after election. The people of the country love Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi because they have themselves seen and experienced the changes brought about in the lives of the poor, women and youth.

Where Was Congress When the Youth of the Country Was Seeking Opportunities? - Chief Minister
The Chief Minister said that today Congress leaders talk about the youth and question what Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has done for them. The Congress should first explain where it was when the youth of the country was seeking opportunities. What policy did it have for the youth during its tenure, and what was the condition of the country's youth at that time?
He said that initiatives such as Khelo India, Make in India and Fit India have opened the doors to new possibilities for the youth. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has provided new opportunities and confidence to the youth of the country and has also shown them the path towards self-reliance.
The Chief Minister said that more than 12,500 startups are operational in Haryana today and 19 unicorns have emerged. He said that while people are benefiting from better roads and modern infrastructure today, claiming that the government led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has done nothing reflects the contradiction in the Congress's politics.

Congress Will Not Gain Public Trust by Abusing the Prime Minister
The Chief Minister said that the Congress, which is devoid of issues, now has nothing left except to use abusive language against Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The Congress should understand that abusing the Prime Minister is an insult to the poor person who has received a permanent house; an insult to the woman who has received dignity; and an insult to the youth who has received new opportunities to move forward.
He said that before pointing fingers at others, the Congress should look within itself. Cursing and abusing Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will not satisfy the Congress's political hunger. To gain the people's trust, the Congress will have to change its approach towards the poor, women and youth.
The Chief Minister said that the people of the country are watching who is working and who is merely practising politics of opposition. Criticising and using abusive language reflects the helplessness of the Congress, and it appears that this has become embedded in its political DNA.
He said that in a democracy, the opposition has an important role and has the right to oppose the government. We too have been in the opposition and at that time raised the people's voice strongly. But today the Congress has neither an issue, nor a policy, nor any concrete agenda left. He said that getting up in the morning to tell lies and going to sleep at night after telling lies has become the Congress's politics.

Reality of Promises to Make Punjab Drug-Free Before the Public
Replying to a question, the Chief Minister said that before coming to power in Punjab, the government there had made big promises to make the state drug-free, but today the reality of its fight against drugs is before everyone.
He said that a helpless father troubled by drugs pleaded before a Punjab minister, but his appeal was not heard and ultimately he had to lose his life. He said that the truth of their politics is that they say one thing and do another. The people of Punjab can no longer be misled with false promises and hollow claims. The public has understood the difference between promises and ground reality very well.
