Patiala: A large number of new and old Congress supporters had submitted joining forms for various positions in the Congress SC Department. Before appointing them to these posts, a significant meeting was organized at a private hotel in the city under the leadership of District Chairman Gurpreet Singh Rajgarh and Urban Chairman Balkar Singh Badungar of the Congress SC Department to conduct the first-ever interviews of these candidates.
The meeting was specially attended by All India Congress Committee (AICC) SC Department Convener Sudhir Chaudhary, Punjab State Chairman Gurpreet Singh Lucky Pakhoke, and Working Chairman Bunny Khaira, who conducted the interviews for key positions. To honor these visiting leaders, District Congress President Naresh Kumar Duggal, Rural President Gursaran Kaur Randhawa, Rajesh Mandora, and District Spokesperson Rajesh Baggan were also present.
Convener Sudhir Chaudhary and Chairman Gurpreet Singh Lucky Pakhoke stated jointly that 29 district-level SC Department Chairmen have already been appointed across Punjab, and their capabilities were assessed through a formal interview process. They emphasized that, following the High Command's directives, no appointment would be made without an interview, and these rules would apply equally to all candidates.
District Chairman Gurpreet Singh Rajgarh and Urban Chairman Balkar Badungar added that the Scheduled Caste community is joining the party with great enthusiasm to ensure a Congress victory in 2027. Others present included Karamjit Kaur Sunam (Secretary, SC Wing), Bhupinder Kaur Kaurjiwala, Deepak Tiwana, Rajinder Singh Sahota, Bhalinder Singh Tony, and Subedar Sharma Singh.
