Chandigarh, March 18:- Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini, while targeting the Congress regarding the Rajya Sabha elections, said that the Congress party itself is doing the work of strangling democracy. The Congress's accusation of killing democracy is indicative of their bad thinking, while the reality is that the killing of democracy has happened due to their statements and the Congress should apologize for it.
The Chief Minister was speaking in the Budget Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha on Wednesday regarding the Rajya Sabha elections.
Mr. Naib Singh Saini clarified that this topic is not part of the discussion of the House, but Dr. Raghubir Singh Qadian, who is the senior-most member and has also been the Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha, said what was the need for a third candidate. MLA Mrs. Geeta Bhukkal made this statement in the media that the government ministers have bought our MLAs.
The Chief Minister said that the third candidate was not ours, he was an independent candidate and he was fielded in the election by independent members. Everyone has the right to contest elections in a democracy. The third independent candidate came to us to seek votes, he even went to the Congress to seek votes, those whose conscience was awakened, voted for him. Then what is the problem with anyone in this.
