Hoshiarpur: Concerned about the dilapidated state of the Hoshiarpur-Chintpurni road, the management of Shri Gobind Godham Gaushala—led by President Kuldeep Saini—submitted a memorandum addressed to the Deputy Commissioner to Assistant Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur (under training). Providing details on the matter, former Improvement Trust Chairman Advocate Rakesh Marwaha stated that the road's condition is so poor that commuters face a constant risk of accidents.
He noted that the stretch from Chauhal up to the Himachal border is in such a bad state that there is a perpetual fear of a major accident occurring at any moment. Furthermore, a significant section of the road near Manguwal and the Himachal border was washed away by rains last year; the fact that repair work has not yet commenced further exacerbates the danger.
He explained that the memorandum highlights the upcoming Mata Chintpurni fair, scheduled to begin on August 13. Lakhs of pilgrims will travel along this route during the event, and the road's poor condition will cause them significant hardship. Therefore, repairs must be completed before August 5; otherwise, an agitation strategy will be adopted to protest the issue. Advocate Marwaha urged the government and administration to expedite this work in the public interest.
Ram Yadav, Harish Sharma 'Kala', Mahinder Pal, Sadashiv Gupta, and Mukesh Dawar were also present on the occasion. The Assistant Commissioner assured the organization's representatives that their demand would be conveyed to the Deputy Commissioner and that a resolution would be sought as soon as possible.
