Chandigarh:– At Palsora, Chandigarh, on August 24, 2026, Kavi Manch (Regd.), Mohali, in collaboration with the Palsora Branch (Sector-55), Chandigarh, of All India Pingalwara Charitable Society (Regd.), Amritsar, organized an entertainment programme comprising a felicitation ceremony, Geet Mehfil, Giddha, Bhangra and other cultural activities with the objective of uplifting the mental well-being of differently-abled persons, elderly people, brothers, mothers and sisters. The programme was presided over by Bhagat Ram Rangara, President, Kavi Manch (Regd.), Mohali, while poetess Bibi Anju Aman Grover attended as the Chief Guest and Mohanbir Singh Shergill and Balkar Singh Sidhu participated as Special Guests.
The programme began with a new composition presented by lyricist and singer Khushi Ram Nimana. Thereafter, lyricist and singer Dhyan Singh Kahlon also entertained the audience by singing “Yaari Hai Chholiyan Da Vadh Nahi.” In their turn, Bhupinder Matoria, folk singer Amar Virdi, Deepak Rikhi and Balkar Singh Sidhu took the programme to new heights by presenting Boliyan.
Balwinder Singh Dhillon, Navdeep Kaur, Gurwinder Guri, Harpreet Kaur, Amarjit Kaur and Amarjit Kaur Morinda also enthralled the audience with their respective performances. Palsora Branch In-charge Mahinder Singh conveyed the organization’s main message through a melodious poem, while Bhagat Ram Rangara added to the grandeur of the colourful programme with his popular Rubaiyat. The programme continued for a long time, providing entertainment without any monotony, while Giddha and Bhangra remained special attractions for the audience.
Harmonium artist Charanjit Singh Channi, Advocate Neelam Narang, Dr. Rajinder Renu, Sarabjit Singh Padda and Sarabjit Kaur Sabi also displayed their artistic talents. Meanwhile, Dr. Pawanpreet Kaur, Mohanbir Singh Shergill, Balkar Singh Sidhu and Anju Amandeep Grover, in their respective keynote speeches, described the programme as unique and exemplary and suggested that such programmes should also be organized in the future.
During the function, the following personalities, who are associated with various forms of art, were specially honoured with a Loee and mementoes: Dhyan Singh Kahlon, Bhupinder Matoria, Malkiat Aujla, Khushi Ram Nimana, Amar Virdi, Deepak Rikhi, Balwinder Dhillon, Harbhajan Kaur Dhillon, Amarjit Kaur, Advocate Neelam Narang, Dr. Rajinder Renu, Sarabjit Kaur Sabi, Harpreet Kaur, Sarabjit Singh Padda, Amarjit Kaur Morinda, Navdeep Kaur, Narinder Kaur Laungian and Dr. Pawanpreet Kaur.
On the occasion, Bibi Anju Amandeep Grover, Chief Guest; Mohanbir Singh Shergill, Special Guest; Balkar Singh Sidhu, Special Guest; and Mahinder Singh Kaler, In-charge, Pingalwara Palsora Branch, were honoured by Kavi Manch with Loee and mementoes. The Pingalwara organization also presented sets of books to the entire presiding panel as a mark of respect.
The programme was compered by Raj Kumar Sahowalia, General Secretary, Kavi Manch (Regd.), Mohali, while tea, refreshments and langar were arranged by the Pingalwara Palsora Branch with great respect and hospitality.
