Chandigarh, March 18:- Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini, while appealing to all public representatives with the aim of promoting natural farming, said that there are some subjects which are above party politics, therefore it is the responsibility of all of us to not only implement natural farming in our lives, but also to make farmers aware about it.
The Chief Minister was addressing a special awareness program on natural farming organized in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha on Wednesday. On this occasion, Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat gave his statement on natural farming.
Welcoming Governor Acharya Devvrat, Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that he is a powerful source of inspiration for Indian culture, moral values ??and natural lifestyle. He has dedicated his life to social service, education and especially the propagation of natural farming. Acharya Devvrat Ji is working to make farmers aware of natural farming by going to every corner of the country.
He said that today farmers are using pesticides, urea and chemical fertilizers in large quantities, which also pollutes the environment and has an adverse effect on health.
The Chief Minister said that Haryana is an agriculture-based state and the model of natural farming presents a new direction for farmers. The natural farming farm built on 180 acres of land in Gurukul, Kurukshetra with the efforts of Acharya Devvrat is a unique example of natural farming for the farmers of Haryana. No pesticides or chemical fertilizers are used in this farm. Only Jivamrit, Ghanamrit and Bijamrit prepared from cow dung and cow urine are used. This system of farming is based on a small budget.
He said that the Natural Agriculture Scheme was started in Haryana in the year 2022. For this, a Natural Agriculture Portal has been started by the state government. On this portal, 19 thousand 723 farmers have got their verification done to adopt natural agriculture in an area of ??31 thousand 873 acres in the state. So far, more than 12 thousand farmers have been given training in natural agriculture. Apart from this, one-day online training was also given to all the sarpanches of the state in Hameti, Jind.
The Chief Minister said that in this scheme, incentive amount is also given on branding and packaging of natural agricultural products. A subsidy of Rs. 30 thousand is given on the purchase of indigenous cows. Under this scheme, 2 thousand 500 farmers were given Rs. 75 lakh at the rate of 4 drums per farmer and a subsidy amount of Rs. 1 crore 30 lakh for the purchase of 523 indigenous cows.
**Initiatives to promote natural farming in Budget 2026-27
Shri Naib Singh Saini said that he has taken several initiatives to promote natural farming in Budget 2026-27. Haryana State Seed Certification Agency will be made a certification body for organic farming certification to farmers. Farmers certified by APIDA will be given a subsidy of Rs. 10 thousand per acre every year for the next 5 years.
The Chief Minister said that with the guidance of Governor Acharya Devvrat Ji on natural farming in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha today, the farmers of Haryana will definitely move towards natural farming.
