Chandigarh, June 16:- Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini practiced Yoga protocol in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha complex on Tuesday. Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Shri Harvinder Kalyan, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shri Shyam Singh Rana and many other dignitaries also joined the Chief Minister in the common Yoga protocol practice.
Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini and Vidhan Sabha Speaker Shri Harvinder Kalyan started the Yoga protocol practice session by lighting the lamp and performed all the yoga exercises to be performed on the occasion of International Yoga Day in the prescribed order. Haryana Yoga Commission Chairman Dr. Jaideep Arya, along with Yoga trainers, conducted the practice of prayer, physical movement exercises, standing, sitting, lying on the stomach and lying on the back as per all the yoga protocols.
Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini said that Yoga takes us on a journey from 'I' to 'We' and it connects us with ourselves and with society. The whole world will celebrate International Yoga Day on June 21, but we need to understand that we should not celebrate Yoga Day just for one day, but should connect it with life as a concept. The state-level Yoga Day function in Haryana will be organized in Panchkula. He appealed to the people of the state to regularly participate in Yoga programs near them and contribute to the progress of the country by staying mentally and physically healthy through Yoga. The Chief Minister said that when Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi introduced Yoga to the world through the United Nations in 2014, the whole world, understanding its importance, welcomed this initiative of India with open hearts. This ancient practice has also been mentioned by Lord Shri Krishna in the message of the Gita. Due to the efforts of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the whole world is connected with Yoga. This is a testament to India's historical achievement and India's cultural power. It is also a global recognition and salute to India's ancient tradition. Today the whole world is celebrating International Yoga Day. He said that this year the theme of the 12th International Yoga Day has been kept as 'Yoga for Healthy Ageing'. The Haryana Government is also moving forward towards realizing the concept of a drug-free Haryana through the medium of Yoga. As per our promise, we have included Yoga in the curriculum and have established Yoga clubs in schools, colleges and universities. The government has set a target of opening gyms in every village of Haryana. So far, 883 gyms have been opened, in which 859 Yoga assistants have been appointed. AYUSH dispensaries and sub-health centers have been upgraded as Ayushman Arogya Centers, in which Yoga instructors have been appointed.
He said that the yoga training in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha complex is also a message that the leadership and public representatives of Haryana live a yogic life. This is also the basis of good governance and public service. The government has also arranged for yoga breaks every day in all industrial units. He said that in the midst of the continuous rush of the day, they themselves take a 5-minute break and do yoga, due to which they re-energize themselves.
Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mr. Harvinder Kalyan said that Yoga is the ancient and magnificent cultural heritage of India, which has shown the whole world the way to a healthy life. Yoga is not just physical exercise, but it is a holistic lifestyle that establishes harmony between the body, mind and soul. In the current times, the importance of Yoga has increased even more amidst stressful lifestyle, irregular daily routine and increasing health challenges.
He said that it is a matter of pride for us that due to the efforts of the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, the United Nations recognized June 21 as the International Yoga Day and today, crores of people in many countries of the world are making Yoga a part of their daily lives. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's vision of making India developed by 2047 can be realized only when every person is healthy. He said that in Haryana too, Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini has made meaningful efforts to keep the youth away from the tendency of drugs by promoting Yoga. Haryana Yoga Commission Chairman Dr. Jaideep Arya said that the Common Yoga Protocol is a standardized and scientific series of yoga practices developed by the Ministry of AYUSH of India. It has been designed to be done at the same time and in the same rhythm all over the world on International Yoga Day. Its objective is to make information available to people of all ages and abilities about the basics of Yoga, health benefits and mental peace. In this protocol, the various stages have been placed in a systematic order so that the mind and body can be prepared gradually. On this occasion, the Chief Vigilance Officer of the Vidhan Sabha Shri Ramkumar Kashyap, MLA Shri Randhir Singh Panihar, Shri Kanwar Singh Yadav, Vice-Chairman of the Yoga Commission Roshan Lal and other officers and employees of the Vidhan Sabha were also present.
