Chandigarh, 10 September:- Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini directly released Rs 1,890 crore 16 lakh into the bank accounts of 50 lakh 28 thousand 208 eligible beneficiaries under various schemes. These include the instalment of the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Scheme, social security pensions for the elderly and persons with disabilities, financial assistance under the Dayalu Scheme to needy families, gas subsidy to homemakers, and Bhavantar Bharpai to farmers. The Chief Minister said that the resolve of the double-engine government is to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach every eligible person directly, transparently and in a time-bound manner.
Addressing a press conference held at Haryana Niwas on Thursday, the Chief Minister said that the 11th instalment of the 'Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi' Scheme was released today. Under this, Rs 212 crore 16 lakh has been deposited into the accounts of 10 lakh 10 thousand beneficiary women. With this, a total of Rs 2,254 crore 47 lakh has been released in 11 instalments under the scheme so far. He said that from September 17, families with an annual income of up to Rs 1 lakh 80 thousand will also start receiving the benefits of this scheme. The state government has made a provision of Rs 6,500 crore for the Lado Lakshmi Scheme in the Budget for the current financial year.
On this occasion, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Shri Krishan Kumar Bedi, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance and Planning Department Shri Arun Gupta, Commissioner and Secretary of the Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture Department Shri K. Makarand Pandurang, Director of the Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture Department Dr. Aditya Dahiya and Additional Director (Administration) Shri Vivek Kalia, Shri Manish Lohan and other senior officers were present.
More than 35 lakh beneficiaries receive Rs 1,129 crore in social security pensions
The Chief Minister said that today Rs 1,129 crore 5 lakh was directly transferred into the accounts of 35 lakh 6 thousand 841 beneficiaries under 15 different social security pension schemes. These include the Old Age Samman Allowance, Disability Allowance and other social security pensions.
He said that the government has adopted a 'pro-active model' while bringing about a transformation in the system. Eligibility is determined automatically on the basis of the Parivar Pehchan Patra database, and eligible citizens are receiving social security pension benefits while sitting at home, without having to make rounds of offices or submit applications. This payment through Direct Benefit Transfer is a symbol of the government's commitment to transparency and good governance.
In addition, financial assistance of Rs 168 crore 13 lakh 21 thousand has been provided to 4 thousand 520 families under the Dayalu Scheme. These include 70 families under Dayalu Scheme-2. With today's release included, a total of Rs 3,320 crore 61 lakh 21 thousand has been provided as financial assistance to 89 thousand 56 families so far.
5 lakh women receive Rs 19.68 crore in gas subsidy
The Chief Minister said that today a subsidy of Rs 19 crore 68 lakh was also transferred into the bank accounts of 5 lakh women who had refilled gas cylinders in July under the 'Har Ghar-Har Grihini Scheme'. Under this scheme, eligible women are being provided gas cylinders for Rs 500 every month. Including the amount released today, a total of Rs 359 crore 82 lakh has been transferred so far into the bank accounts of 14 lakh 65 thousand eligible women under the scheme.
Gift of Bhavantar Bharpai to farmers
The Chief Minister said that today Rs 49 crore 89 lakh in Bhavantar compensation was released to 6 thousand 177 farmers for potatoes, cauliflower and honey under the Bhavantar Bharpai Scheme. This includes Rs 48 crore 9 lakh to 6 thousand 12 farmers for potatoes, Rs 46 lakh 76 thousand to 99 farmers for cauliflower and Rs 1 crore 32 lakh 73 thousand to 66 farmers for honey.
The potato Bhavantar amount has been released to vegetable-producing farmers in Ambala, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Panipat, Yamunanagar and Panchkula districts. The cauliflower amount has been given to farmers in Ambala, Kurukshetra and Yamunanagar districts. At the same time, the honey amount is being released to beekeepers in Ambala, Bhiwani, Fatehabad, Gurugram, Hisar, Jhajjar, Jind, Kaithal, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Narnaul, Rewari, Rohtak, Sirsa and Yamunanagar districts.
The Chief Minister said that including the amount released today, Rs 246 crore 95 lakh has so far been given to 45 thousand 764 farmers as Bhavantar compensation.
Rs 311.25 crore released to 670 beneficiaries under 7 schemes of Industries and Commerce Department
The Chief Minister said that Rs 311 crore 25 lakh in incentives has also been released to 670 beneficiaries under 7 different schemes of the MSME and Industries Directorate. He said that an announcement in this regard had been made in the Budget speech.
He said that fulfilling the same announcement, an amount of Rs 311.25 crore has been released today to beneficiaries of various schemes.
The Chief Minister said that the priority of the state government is to ensure that the poor, farmers, women, elderly, persons with disabilities and needy families, along with entrepreneurs, receive the benefits of government schemes directly and in a time-bound manner. Through a transparent system, DBT and the pro-active model, the government is ensuring that eligible persons do not have to make rounds of any office to avail themselves of the benefits.
He said that in this manner, a total amount of Rs 1,890 crore 16 lakh has been released today into the bank accounts of 50 lakh 28 thousand 208 eligible beneficiaries under 26 different schemes.
