Chandigarh, April 11:- Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini paid homage to social reformer, great thinker and educationist Mahatma Jyotiba Phule on his birth anniversary and remembered his invaluable contribution.
The Chief Minister said that Mahatma Jyotiba Phule ji fought a lifelong struggle against the evils, caste discrimination and inequality prevalent in the society. He described education as the strongest source of social change and paved the way for the upliftment of the deprived sections of the society.
He said that Mahatma Phule ji laid a new foundation of equality and justice by opening the doors of education for women and the deprived sections. His efforts brought awareness in the society and a new mindset towards education was developed. The Chief Minister said that the ideals and thoughts of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule ji still inspire us to build a just, egalitarian and progressive society. He appealed to the people of the state to follow the path shown by Mahatma Phule ji and strengthen brotherhood and equality in the society.
