Chandigarh, January 30:- Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini interacted with the youth of Punjab who came to his residence Sant Kabir Kutir on Friday and had a meaningful discussion on governance, policy and employment opportunities. He called good governance and merit-based model the basis of development and emphasized on transparent employment policy, so that qualified youth can get fair opportunities. The Chief Minister, while calling skill development the need of the future, said that by encouraging training, innovation and entrepreneurship, the youth power can be made self-reliant.
The Chief Minister said that winning the trust of the people in a democracy is not easy and maintaining it is an even more challenging task. The third term of the double engine government in the Centre and Haryana is a result of the fact that the youth in particular have shown faith in the government's policies. The government has ensured since the beginning of its tenure that the talent of the youth is respected and they get equal opportunities. He said that Haryana and Punjab are not just neighboring states, but two strong strands of the same culture, tradition and heritage.
The Chief Minister said that the Haryana Government has provided government jobs to the youth on merit basis by strictly implementing the no-cost-no-slip policy. The large-scale recruitments done in the past years have increased the confidence of the youth and strengthened the politics of trust.
The Chief Minister assured the youth of Punjab that they can meet them anytime and the Haryana Government is fully committed to taking every possible step for the interests of the youth.

**Youth is the biggest strength in developed India 2047
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's resolve is to make India developed by the year 2047 and the youth of the country is the biggest strength in realizing this goal. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, India has joined the top economic powers of the world and is now moving rapidly towards becoming the third largest economic power. The Chief Minister said that for the first time after independence, the country has got such leadership which is taking forward the ideas of the great heroes of independence.

**Strict action against drugs
The Chief Minister said that the Haryana government is working with full seriousness against drugs. From establishing de-addiction centers to treating the youth addicted to drugs, the government is making efforts at every level. To spread awareness against drugs, programs like cyclothon and marathon are being organized, in which 20 to 25,000 youth are participating.
He said that in the police stations where drug activities are found to be high, clear instructions have been given to take strict action against the concerned officials. Strict action is being taken against the persons involved in the illegal drug trade and their properties are also being seized.
The Chief Minister said that by establishing the Department of External Cooperation, employment opportunities are being provided to the youth abroad in a safe, transparent and respectable manner. Along with this, the government is also making arrangements to send the youth abroad through legitimate means. He expressed concern over the fraud and wrong practices like dunk route being done to the youth in the name of going abroad. He said that strict action has been taken against those who send the youth through dunk route.
Shri Naib Singh Saini, while describing the social security schemes, said that the Haryana government is providing a monthly pension of Rs 3200 to the elderly, while in Punjab this amount is Rs 1500. He said that while in Punjab there is a provision of pension up to an annual income of Rs 60 thousand, in Haryana this limit has been kept up to Rs 3 lakh.

**Relief to lakhs with health schemes
While describing the health schemes, the Chief Minister said that lakhs of people have got benefits under Ayushman Bharat and Chirayu Yojana. So far, about one crore fifty lakh cards have been issued and claims of up to Rs 4500 crore have been given by the government.

**Haryana's strong identity in sports
While describing the achievements of Haryana in the field of sports, the Chief Minister said that sports nurseries, sports academies and gymnasiums have been established in the state. The players are being provided with training, sports kits and financial assistance, due to which more and more players from the state are making their mark at the national and international level.
The Chief Minister said that Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Lal Lajpat Rai, great revolutionaries, dedicated their entire lives to the nation, so that the coming generations can live a life of happiness and peace. He appealed to the youth to imbibe these great ideals in their lives.
On this occasion, OSDF to the Chief Minister Mr. Tarun Bhandari and Mr. Bibi Bharti and Media Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Praveen Atre were also present.
