Shahzadpur (Ambala) May 17:- Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini made a flurry of announcements at a state-level function organized in Shahzadpur, Ambala on Sunday to celebrate Maharana Pratap Jayanti under the "Sant-Mahan Purush Samman and Thought Promotion Scheme". He announced that a study center and a chair will be set up in the name of Maharana Pratap in Kurukshetra University. The Government Women's College located in Baragarh village of Shahzadpur will be named Maharana Padmavati Government College. A grant of Rs 3.1 million will be provided for the construction of Rajput Hostel and the sealing of the Kachchh Nallah in Shahzadpur. Apart from these, the Chief Minister also announced a grant of Rs 5 crore for development projects in Narayangarh assembly constituency. Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated the renovated statue of Maharana Pratap. Mizoram Governor Hon’ble General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh also attended the function.
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that Maharana Pratap was such a great warrior that his name alone inspires a patriotic movement in Rome. Hearing his name fills the heart with pride and eyes with devotion. Maharana Pratap was born in the Rajput community at a time when injustice and oppression were prevailing in Indian society and attempts were being made to destroy our glorious culture and hurt religious sentiments. He inherited bravery from Maharana Kumbha and Rana Sanga and after assuming power in Mewar, he set an unparalleled example of courage and bravery. His horse Chetak and elephant Ram Prasad were also equally remarkable who set examples of sacrifice for the nation, religion and honour.
The Chief Minister said that Maharana Pratap spent about 20 years in the forests to free his birthplace and karma land from the Mughals. He accepted to eat grass but never gave up. He said that Maharana Pratap was born in the brave Rajput community. The Chief Minister said that Rajput is not a caste but a symbol of justice and truth. This community has given the country great rulers.
This community holds a leading position in sacrificing for the honor and pride of the nation during and after India's independence.
The Chief Minister said that Maharana Pratap's life teaches us that as long as self-respect is alive, our soul is alive. His principles of not causing any harm to the civilization and culture of the country still guide us today. Inspired by his bravery, our forces have defeated the enemy many times in wars. In this regard, he gave details of Operation Sindoor.
Hon’ble Governor General (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh of Mizoram said that the life of Maharana Pratap should be a source of inspiration for every Indian. We should learn from his life that we should never forget our heritage, culture and religion. He said that the style of war used by Maharana Pratap to teach a lesson to the Mughals was adopted by Chhatrapati Shivaji. We can learn from Maharana Pratap’s war strategy that we should never do any work with emotion but with thought and then victory will always be ours.
Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana in his presidential address provided detailed information about the bravery and sacrifice of Maharana Pratap, his horse and elephant and shed light on their struggles and the incidents of the Battle of Haldighati. He said that today people from every corner of the state have participated in large numbers to pay homage to Maharana Pratap.
On this occasion, he presented a spear to Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini and also put forward several demands before him. Apart from this, BJP District President Mandeep Rana requested for provision of land for Maharana Pratap Bhawan in Shahzadpur and grant for a Rajput hostel in Ambala city.
Former MLA Dr. Pawan Saini, while paying tribute to Maharana Pratap, thanked Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini and Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana for organizing a state-level program in Shahzadpur and put forward several demands related to development works in Narayangarh constituency. BJP District President Mandeep Rana welcomed the Chief Minister and the Honorable Governor and presented a turban and a memento as a symbol of respect.
During the program, singer Nusrat Khan's musical group performed a magnificent performance of songs based on the bravery of Maharana Pratap.
