Una, February 4: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday inaugurated and dedicated to the public various development projects completed at a cost of Rs 16.26 crore in the Amb sub-division of Una district. These projects have strengthened the road and bridge infrastructure in the area, facilitating easier movement and boosting the rural economy.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the upgraded Takarla-Baruhi via Nai Abadi road, constructed at a cost of Rs 6.57 crore. The upgradation of this approximately 5-kilometer-long road will directly benefit more than 11,000 people in the area and will further strengthen access to local trade, education, and healthcare services.
In addition, he also inaugurated the 6.50-kilometer-long Amb-Gagret-Athwan to Harijan Basti road and bridge project, constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 9.50 crore. The completion of this project has provided better road connectivity to the Shri Chintpurni and Gagret assembly constituencies.
From Takarla, the Chief Minister also unveiled the plaque and inaugurated the Samarth Gyan Deep Library and Gymnasium in Mairi Khas, constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 20 lakh. This center will prove helpful in the educational, intellectual, and physical development of the youth.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously working with unwavering commitment towards the overall development of villages and strengthening the basic infrastructure. He said that roads and bridges are not just physical structures, but bridges of development, opportunities, and self-reliance in villages. The government's priority is to ensure that the benefits of development reach the last person and that balanced and sustainable development is ensured in rural areas.
Earlier, the Chief Minister listened to public grievances at the Public Works Department rest house in Amb and resolved most of the problems on the spot.
Local MLA Sudarshan Singh Bablu expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for inaugurating the development projects in the area and said that these works will directly benefit the people of the area and will give a new direction and momentum to development in the Amb sub-division. On this occasion, MLA Rakesh Kalia, MLA Vivek Sharma, Chairman of the State Scheduled Castes Commission Kuldeep Kumar, District Congress President Deshraj Gautam, Commission member advocate Vijay Dogra, former District Congress President Rajesh Parashar, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal, Superintendent of Police Amit Yadav, SDM Amb Paras Agarwal, along with other public representatives, party officials, and administrative officers, were present.
