Hoshiarpur: Former MP Avinash Rai Khanna said that the budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for 2026 will prove to be a historic budget and another step towards the country's progress! Khanna said that this is the first time in the country that a Finance Minister has presented the budget for the ninth time! Khanna said that this budget has been presented keeping in mind the country's defense, security, and connectivity!
He said that the country has reached the third position in the world in the aviation sector, which has been possible under the able leadership of the country's Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Bhai Modi! Khanna said that under Narendra Bhai Modi's strong leadership, the connectivity rate is 99.9%, and the unemployment rate has come down to only 3%! Regarding foreign exchange reserves, India has $701.4 billion in foreign currency reserves, which will prove to be a cornerstone for the all-round development of the country!
Khanna said that special attention has been given to domestic production in this budget. This will reduce our dependence on foreign countries, and we will no longer have to fear the threats of tariffs imposed by foreign powers! Khanna said that a decision has been taken to increase GST during this budget. He said that if taxes are increased, the mission of national progress will accelerate even faster!
Khanna said that this budget emphasizes increasing water, land, and air connectivity, which is a commendable step by the central government! Khanna said that another achievement of this budget is that the Jan Dhan Yojana, a dream project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has seen the opening of Jan Dhan accounts for 590 million people in the country so far, which is proving effective in bridging the gap between the rich and the poor! On this occasion, Khanna thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his cabinet for this historic budget.
