Hoshiarpur, September 14:- Punjab Cabinet Minister for Jails and NRI Affairs, Dr. Ravjot Singh, today held a detailed meeting with the concerned officials at the District Administrative Complex to review the progress of ongoing development works in the Sham Chaurasi Assembly constituency.
The Cabinet Minister interacted with senior officials of the Public Works Department, Canal Department, Education Department, Police Administration, Water Supply and Sanitation Department, and other key departments and obtained detailed reports on the ongoing development projects. He directed the officials that there must be no compromise whatsoever on the quality of ongoing construction works and that the pace of all projects should be accelerated.
Dr. Ravjot Singh gave clear instructions to all officials that all development works initiated by the Punjab Government for the convenience of the general public must be completed within the stipulated time. For this purpose, the concerned departments should ensure mutual coordination and a strong strategy. The Minister specifically instructed that officials should not remain confined to their offices, but should personally visit the ground level and continuously monitor the projects so that there is no negligence, laxity or delay of any kind in the work.
The Cabinet Minister said that the primary objective of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is to ensure comprehensive development of every section and every region of the state without any discrimination. The state government is continuously bringing major improvements in the fields of education, healthcare facilities, road connectivity, clean drinking water, sewerage systems, sports, employment opportunities and public welfare.
He said that special priority is also being given to the development of the Sham Chaurasi constituency, and the roads, streets, drains, sewerage system and overall basic infrastructure in the villages are being strengthened. Besides, special efforts are being made to raise the level of basic facilities in government schools, provide students with a better and quality learning environment, and encourage youth towards sports.
Dr. Ravjot Singh also made it clear that it is the key responsibility of officials to ensure that the benefits of all welfare schemes of the Punjab Government reach every eligible beneficiary without any hindrance or inconvenience. He directed the officials to promptly resolve complaints and demands received from the people on a priority basis. He said that the Punjab Government is fully committed to providing transparent and accountable administration. Therefore, any kind of negligence, disregard or laxity in development works will not be tolerated at any cost.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik, senior officials of the concerned departments, besides sarpanches and prominent persons from various villages of the Sham Chaurasi Assembly constituency, were also present.
