Sangrur, 10 April:- Under the efforts being made by the Punjab Government for the overall development of villages, Cabinet Minister Aman Arora today dedicated various development works completed at a total cost of 75.06 lakh rupees in the villages of Tungan and Ubhawal of the constituency and also distributed grant cheques to several social and religious institutions.
Addressing the gathering on this occasion, the Cabinet Minister said that the Punjab Government is committed to strengthening the basic infrastructure facilities in villages and every village is being connected with the mainstream of development. He said that special attention is being given to the development of education, sports and social infrastructure so that better opportunities can be provided to the younger generation.
In village Tungan, the Cabinet Minister dedicated newly constructed school rooms built at a cost of 32.56 lakh rupees. Apart from this, grant cheques were also distributed to social and religious institutions, under which Bhagat Ravidas Welfare Committee was given 4 lakh rupees for a dharamshala, Shiv Bhole Welfare Club was given 2 lakh rupees for Shiv Dharamshala and Gugga Maadi Welfare Society was handed over a cheque of 2 lakh rupees for boundary wall construction. He said that these grants will prove helpful in strengthening the communal and social structure in villages.
Similarly, in village Ubhawal, rooms constructed at a cost of 32 lakh rupees in the Senior Secondary School were dedicated to the public. On this occasion, he handed over a grant cheque of 2.50 lakh rupees to the village panchayat for constructing a shed near the stadium. The Cabinet Minister said that providing infrastructural facilities at the village level to promote sports is the need of the hour.
He appealed to the villagers to take maximum benefit of government schemes and cooperate in the development of their villages. He also assured that the pace of development works will continue in every village of the constituency in the same manner.
