Jaintipar:- A private bus and a tipper truck collided on the Amritsar-Pathankot main road near Adda Gopalpura here, due to which 10 people died on the spot, while more than 30 were seriously injured. The condition of many of the injured is said to be critical and there is a fear that the death toll will increase.
The bus driver and a 15-year-old child are also among the deceased in the accident. All the deceased have not been identified yet. According to eyewitnesses, the tipper of HS Premix Company turned towards its dump without any signal. Meanwhile, a private bus of ABTC Company (No. PB-02-CC-6780) coming from Pathankot towards Amritsar at a high speed collided head-on with the tipper.
The collision between the truck and the bus was so violent that all the seats inside the bus were uprooted and the front part of the bus was also completely damaged. As soon as the information was received, police and ambulance teams reached the spot and the police immediately sent the injured to nearby government and private hospitals.
The police have also seized both the vehicles and further action has been taken.
