Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, November 6: A blood donation camp was organized at Government Polytechnic College Khoonimajra under the directions of Deputy Commissioner and President of District Red Cross Society Komal Mittal, and under the supervision of Principal Smt. Raksha Kiran, with the support of District Red Cross Society, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar.
The camp was inaugurated by Secretary, Red Cross Society Harbans Singh and College Principal Smt. Raksha Kiran. The convener of the blood donation camp, Prof. Gurbakhshish Singh Antal, informed that this camp was organized by the college's Red Ribbon Club and National Service Scheme with the support of Vishwas Foundation, in which technical assistance was provided by the Blood Bank Team of P.G.I. Chandigarh.
He stated that 45 volunteers from Government Polytechnic College and I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Mohali Campus donated blood. On this occasion, Harbans Singh praised the college's initiative and congratulated camp coordinator Gurbakhshish Singh on his 40th blood donation.
During the camp, refreshments for the donors were provided by H.D.F.C. Bank. For the success of the camp, NSS Convener Parminder Saini, Dr. Ravinder (Program Officer), Prof. Barinder Pratap Singh, Prof. Amandeep Kaur, President of Vishwas Foundation Sadhvi Neelam Vishwas, and Secretary Rishi Saral Vishwas made special contributions.
During the camp, students who had completed 18 years of age gave the message of voter awareness, stating “Blood donation is a great donation, every vote is essential – for the service of the country.”
