Chandigarh:- The Haryana government has taken an important decision for the families of Haryanvi victims killed in the 1984 Sikh riots. Now, the path of direct posting has been opened for an eligible member of these families through the Haryana Skill Employment Corporation (HKRN).
According to a notification issued by the Human Resources Department, the government has amended the Contractual Employees Posting Policy-2022 to add a sensitive and compassionate provision for the families of the riot victims. Under the notification issued on Wednesday, one member of the family of the riot victims has been given the right to be posted on humanitarian grounds.
This means that a new path of employment on contract basis in government departments is now open for families who have lost their members in the 1984 violence - whether the incident took place in Haryana or the death of a person of Haryana origin outside the state. Skill Employment Corporation will deploy such persons in suitable job roles from Level-1 to Level-3. The qualification and educational qualification will be the same as that already determined by the Corporation.
**Job will be available in all departments
The notification has clarified that the benefit of this facility started for the families of Sikh riot victims will be available in all departments. For this, instructions have been sent to all departments, Divisional Commissioners, DC, SDM, public institutions, boards, universities and the Registrar of Punjab and Haryana High Court to ensure compliance with this order. With this, this policy will not be limited to only a few offices, but will be equally applicable to the entire state administration. This will make employment opportunities available on a wide scale.
**These arrangements will be made if there are no vacant posts
Another point has also been added in the notification. If such job roles are already filled in a department, then such a candidate will be adjusted in another department. Skill Employment Corporation will coordinate with the concerned departments to ensure suitable posts. If indent (request for posts) is not available anywhere, the Corporation will adjust such employee in its own unit. This arrangement makes this policy practical and effective.
**When will the policy come into effect
The government has made it clear that this policy has also come into effect with the issuance of the notification. That is, from now on, applications of riot victim families will be accepted directly under this revised policy. It has also been clarified that only one member of the family of a person of Haryana origin killed in the Sikh riots will get a job on contract basis.
