Haroli/Una, June 25 (Rajveer Chopra): On the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse, a pledge ceremony and an awareness rally were organized at Prof. Simmi Agnihotri Government College, Haroli, with the aim of sensitizing students to the adverse effects of drug abuse.
The college principal, faculty members, and a large number of students participated in the event. During the occasion, all students and staff members took a pledge to abstain from drugs and to work towards creating a drug-free society. Through this pledge, a message was conveyed to the youth to adopt a healthy, positive, and disciplined lifestyle.
Subsequently, an awareness rally was taken out within the college campus and the surrounding areas. During the rally, students raised anti-drug slogans to educate the public about the harmful effects of substance abuse and called for cooperation in building a drug-free society.
Addressing the students, College Principal Dr. Rajendra Kumar stated that the youth represent the nation's greatest strength. He emphasized that a strong, healthy, and aware society can only be built by keeping the youth away from social evils like drug abuse. He noted that such programs play a crucial role in fostering a sense of social responsibility among students and in taking the resolve for a drug-free India to the masses.
The event was organized with the support of Dr. Nidhi Sharma (In-charge of the college's Drug De-addiction Cell), Dr. Shakuntala Rana, Dr. Richa Sharma, and other staff members. At the conclusion of the program, Prof. R.S. Dadwal extended a vote of thanks to all those present.
