Patiala:- Patiala district has been honored to become helping angels of the victims to save the lives being destroyed due to increasing natural and human disasters, wars, traffic accidents, terrorist attacks, heart attacks, cardiac arrest, fainting, shock.
Giving this information, Disaster Management, First Aid Trainer Shri Kaka Ram Verma Retired Training Supervisor Red Cross Society said that by providing training on disaster management, first aid, CPR, fire safety, use of cylinders to all more than 259 students of Government Nursing College Rajindra Hospital Patiala, more than 250 youth have been made helping angels of the victims.
Who can also help the victims to save the lives of the victims outside the hospitals during natural and human disasters. Often, after accidents, accidents, due to the victims not getting proper first aid, CPR immediately on the spot, more than 80% of the victims die before receiving medical help.
During road accidents, to save the lives of the injured, the Punjab government reduces the number of deaths by 55% through the Road Safety Force personnel. These Road Safety Force personnel were also trained by Kaka Ram Verma in different districts on first aid, CPR, care of the injured, and use of bandages.
This information was given by Road Safety Force Res Inspector Ramkes, Traffic Education Cell Inspector Sarabjit Kaur and Guru Nanak Institute Dr. Suman Rai at the conclusion of the ongoing Disaster Management, First Aid, Fire Safety Training Camp at Government Nursing College Rajindra Hospital Patiala. After seeing the Disaster Management, First Aid, Fire Safety demonstration by the students, Shri Kaka Ram Verma Retired Training Supervisor Red Cross praised the training provided by him and said that to save precious lives, it is very important to organize such training camps at educational institutions and commercial establishments and prepare helping angels in every home, family, institution.
Fires break out every day in hospitals, vehicles and buildings, gas leaks, electrical accidents, due to not extinguishing fires in the right way and not using cylinders, properties, vehicles, buildings, vegetation and lives are being destroyed.
The students of the nursing college have been given training on disaster management, first aid, use of fire safety cylinders, and their morale has been boosted. During emergencies, they have been made helpful angels to assist the administration and rescue and transport the victims.
He came up with this idea after seeing the performance of the students at the Government Nursing College Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, praising Shri Kaka Ram Verma and the Principal of the college, Dr. Balwinder Kaur, and said that this Government Nursing College of Patiala has become the first college in Punjab or India where every student has been made a helpful angel of the victims.
To save the lives of the members of the family during domestic disasters, other institutions will also have to make efforts like this nursing college. Principal Dr. Balwinder Kaur thanked Shri Kaka Ram Verma and his colleagues and said that efforts will definitely be made to save precious lives through the angels being prepared by them.
Demonstration exercises have been conducted by forming 10 types of teams for disaster management. Kaka Ram Verma, while expressing his gratitude, said that since 1980, more than 8,00,000 students, teachers, police factory employees, NSS volunteers, NCC cadets had been trained by him. Last year, these trainings were conducted for the students of the medical college as per the orders of the Principal Director of Government Medical College, Patiala.
