SAS Nagar, August 21:- As part of the “Har Shukarvar Dengue ’Te Vaar” campaign, teams of the District Health Department conducted inspections today at various government and private hospitals across the district. The teams inspected areas where water could potentially accumulate. Wherever stagnant water was found, insecticide was sprayed. Flower pots, coolers, refrigerators and other containers were thoroughly checked, and everyone was urged not to allow water to stagnate anywhere.
During a visit to a private hospital in the city, District Immunization Officer Dr. Girish Dogra and District Nodal Officer Dr. Anamika Soni said that, on the directions of the Punjab Government, the anti-dengue campaign has been continuously underway across the district for several weeks. Along with conducting door-to-door surveys, health teams are also taking action against violators by issuing challans.
The officers said that during the surveys, containers, flower pots, coolers, refrigerators, boxes and other items are being checked for the presence of mosquito larvae. They said that the larvae of the mosquito that transmits dengue can develop into adult mosquitoes within a few days and may pose a serious threat to human health.
The mosquito that spreads dengue generally bites during the daytime and breeds in clean, stagnant water. People were urged to regularly empty and clean water containers, coolers, flower pots and other places where water may accumulate.

**Symptoms of Dengue**
Dengue is a viral fever transmitted through the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito. Common symptoms include high fever, severe headache, muscle and joint pain, pain behind the eyes, nausea and vomiting. In severe cases, bleeding from the nose, mouth or gums may also occur.
