Chandigarh, March 12:- Taking an important initiative towards making Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cleanliness campaign a mass movement, the state's Minister of State for Sports Mr. Gaurav Gautam today attended the dustbin distribution program as the chief guest under the cleanliness campaign organized at the Anaj Mandi in Palwal. About 250 dustbins were distributed on this occasion. The objective of the program is to make the market area clean, orderly and environment-friendly.
Minister of State for Sports Mr. Gaurav Gautam, while distributing dustbins to the shopkeepers and aartiyas of the Anaj Mandi, gave them a message to be aware of cleanliness. He said that along with the responsibility of the government for cleanliness, every citizen of the society also has a moral responsibility. If all the people take a pledge to maintain cleanliness in their vicinity, then the cities and markets can be made clean and beautiful.
He said that the grain market and vegetable market are important centers of economic activities of any city. Thousands of people come here every day for shopping, so it is very important to maintain cleanliness in these places. He appealed to the traders to put the garbage in the dustbin instead of throwing it here and there and also motivate their customers towards cleanliness.
The Minister of State for Sports said that the Central and Haryana governments are continuously making efforts to promote cleanliness in the state. The cleanliness system is being strengthened in markets, public places and residential areas through municipal corporations. Various programs are being organized from time to time to make people aware under the cleanliness campaign. A clean environment is not only beneficial for health, but it also improves the image of the city. People's confidence increases in clean and orderly markets and business also gets a boost.
He said that if all the traders and employees of the market work together to take care of cleanliness, then this place can become an ideal example for the entire district.
He appealed to the people to play an active role in keeping their homes, markets and public places clean, so that Palwal can be made a clean and beautiful city.
