Dera Bassi (S.A.S. Nagar), March 10: Derabassi MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa sought detailed information in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha about the repair of roads under the Punjab Mandi Board in the constituency. In response to which, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Punjab Gurmeet Singh Khudian said that after the ongoing repair of existing 97.9 km roads out of the total 350.14 km roads under the Punjab Mandi Board in the Derabassi constituency, the repair of 186.2 km more roads will start.
The Agriculture Minister informed that out of these, 39 roads with a length of 97.9 km are currently being repaired at a cost of Rs. 57. 94 crores.
In addition, 94 roads with a length of 186.26 km have been included under Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (Part-II) for repair at a cost of Rs. 98.52 crores.
He informed that the remaining 59 roads with a length of 65.98 km are currently in good condition.
MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa said on this occasion that to improve the condition of the roads of the constituency and provide better transport facilities to the people, he is constantly bringing these matters to the attention of the government and will continue to make efforts for the development of the constituency in the coming time as well. He also expressed his gratitude to the government led by Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann for the support being provided for the development of the constituency.
