Karnal, 4th August:- Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rahul Raiya on Tuesday inspected the Soni Mind Care and De-addiction Centre of the district and took stock of the treatment services being provided there. He said that providing quality treatment and better care to every person coming to de-addiction centres is the priority of the district administration.
During the inspection, the Additional Deputy Commissioner reviewed the medical services being provided to patients at the centre, psychological counselling, drug management, sanitation arrangements, security arrangements including other essential facilities. He also reviewed the maintenance of records at the centre.
The ADC directed the centre management that timely medicines and regular counselling services should be made available to every patient. He said that de-addiction is not limited only to treatment, but effective rehabilitation to connect patients to the mainstream of society is equally necessary.
He said that the state government is working seriously for building a drug-free society. In this direction, the de-addiction campaign is being made more effective through coordinated efforts of the Health Department, Social Welfare Department and other concerned departments.
Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Munish said that inspection of de-addiction centres is done from time to time by the district administration and health department, so that better health and rehabilitation services can be made available to persons under treatment as per prescribed standards.
During the inspection, the ADC directed the centre to make treatment and rehabilitation services more effective, to ensure proper maintenance of records and to fully comply with prescribed standards.
On this occasion, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Munish, Clinical Psychologist Dr. Santosh, representative of District Social Welfare Department Prince and Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (M & E) Bhavna including other concerned officers were present.
