Fatehabad, March 6: Under Operation Jeevan Jyoti, being conducted under the guidance of Superintendent of Police, Mr. Siddhant Jain, IPS*, the district police is continuously making efforts to provide treatment to drug addicts and help them overcome their addiction. In this regard, the De-addiction Team Fatehabad and the De-addiction Team Tohana conducted campaigns in various areas, identifying drug addicts and providing them with treatment and counseling.
The De-addiction Team Fatehabad, under the able leadership of Sub-Inspector Sundar, admitted two drug addicts to the Civil Hospital, Fatehabad. In addition, other drug addicts already undergoing treatment at the hospital were also counseled and encouraged to quit.
Following this, the team identified two new drug addicts from Ashok Nagar, Fatehabad, and four from Jallopur village. The team interviewed these addicts, gathered information about their drug history, and encouraged them to stay away from drugs. Additionally, three patients undergoing treatment were provided with Ayurvedic and homeopathic medicines after counseling.
The team also met with patients undergoing treatment in Ward Nos. 4 and 5 of Bhuna, gathering feedback and information about their condition.
On the other hand, the Tohana Drug De-addiction Team, led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Sajjan Kumar, conducted a door-to-door survey in village Karandi in the Sadar Tohana area. During this survey, the team identified five drug addicts in the village. The team interviewed these patients to learn about their drug history and, through counseling, educated them about the adverse effects of drug abuse.
Following this, they were also provided with Ayush medicines and detailed information about the treatment facilities available in government and private hospitals. During the investigation, it was revealed that some patients were already undergoing treatment at the Jakhal drug de-addiction center, while another victim had been admitted to the de-addiction center a few days ago.
Under Operation Jeevan Jyoti, this campaign will continue in future also to identify drug addicts and provide them treatment and to make the society drug free.
