Hoshiarpur: In a major step towards strengthening infrastructure in the Chabbewal Assembly constituency, area MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar inaugurated the newly constructed road from Bassi Kalan to Bathula. This road connects the Hoshiarpur-Garhshankar road to Bassi Jamal Khan via Bichhohi, significantly improving the connectivity of the area. The 5.25-kilometer-long road includes a 700-meter stretch of concrete where the road was prone to breakage. Constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 2 crore, the road's width has been increased from 10 feet to 14 feet, making traffic more smooth and safe.
Following years of demand from local residents, the road has been constructed to modern standards. During the inauguration ceremony, the villagers present expressed their gratitude to MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar and commended his efforts to accelerate development work in the area.
MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar stated that strengthening infrastructure in the Chabbewal Assembly constituency is his priority. He stated that roads are the backbone of any region's economic and social progress. The completion of this road will not only benefit the residents of Bassi Kalan, Bathula, Bassi Jamal Khan, and Bachhohi villages, but will also facilitate transportation to surrounding areas. Dr. Ishank Kumar stated that the road has been widened for the convenience and comfort of the villagers, and further improvements will be made as needed.
The MLA further stated that with the support of the Punjab government, continuous work is underway to strengthen water supply, road construction, streetlights, education, and health infrastructure in the Chabbewal area. Several more development projects will be approved in the coming months, leading to the overall development of the entire region. He assured that no development work in Chabbewal will be left incomplete and that every village will be connected with modern amenities.
