Nilokheri/Karnal, November 29: The four-day training program on time and stress management for professional excellence concluded at the Extension Education Institute, Nilokheri, under the Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University. The closing ceremony was presided over by the Institute's Regional Director, Dr. Sanjay Kumar, while Professor Satish Sharma from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, attended as the chief guest. Addressing the participants, Professor Satish Kumar said that time and stress management are crucial in today's dynamic and competitive professional life. Effective time management enables us to clearly prioritize our goals, organize tasks efficiently, and focus our energy on the most important activities, thereby increasing our productivity and reducing unnecessary workload. Stress management also teaches us the art of maintaining mental balance in the face of challenges in the workplace and personal life. When we learn to manage time, stress automatically decreases as we overcome the anxiety of meeting deadlines and leaving tasks behind. The synergy of these two skills leads to professional excellence, where we are not only able to accomplish more work but also complete that work with better quality, with a calm and focused mind.
Regional Director Dr. Sanjay Kumar stated that training in time and stress management is not merely theoretical knowledge, but an essential investment for the success of our extension work. It has been the Institute's priority to ensure that our officers maintain both efficiency and mental toughness while working on the ground. Excessive workload and uncertainty often lead to stress. This training equips you with practical tools that will help you prioritize your workload, set boundaries, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. Only a trained and stress-free extension officer can be an effective guide for farmers.
Regional Director Dr. Kumar explained that the Institute, under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Professor B.R. Kamboj of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, is training extension officers from departments of agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries, forestry, and women and child development in the states and union territories of North India. He commended the Directorate of Extension, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India for its financial support. He also thanked the University's Director of Extension Education, Dr. Balwan Singh Mandal. Participants provided feedback on the training and praised the institute's facilities.
The program was coordinated by Dr. Jaswinder Kaur. She stated that extension officers from Haryana, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab participated in this four-day training program. Dr. Kaur stated that participants received lectures on the subject and were also taken on a tour of the National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal. Certificates were distributed to participants during the closing ceremony. Dr. Satyakam Malik, Dr. S.R. Verma, Dr. Anil Kumar Rohila, and Dr. Ajay Kumar, along with all the institute staff and participants, were present.
