Ratia, February 23: A delegation from the Sarva Samaj Sabha, headed by President Satpal Jindal, met with MLA Jarnail Singh and submitted a memorandum regarding the city's public problems and issues. On this occasion, the Sabha's General Secretary, Dr. Naib Singh Mander, presented the MLA with the issue of constructing a bank complex in place of the warehouse and drainage of rainwater in the public interest.
Providing this information, Press Secretary Happy Singh Sethi stated that this primarily includes relocating the warehouses outside the city to provide parking facilities, removing the toxic and wastewater from factories flowing into the Ghaggar River, and developing a master plan for draining the city's water.
He stated that the parking problem in the city has become a serious issue, and therefore, the warehouses should be shifted outside the city and replaced with parking and bank complexes to alleviate the traffic jams on the main road outside the banks. Apart from this, as there is no proper arrangement for drainage of rain water in the city, a master plan should be made so that the water can be drained out properly.
Chemical laden water from factories is coming into the Ghaggar river passing through the city due to which people are already suffering from hepatitis disease and who knows what other losses people are facing. MLA Jarnail Singh assured the delegation of Sarva Samaj Sabha to solve these main problems and said that the matter will be raised in the assembly to get all these problems solved with immediate effect.
On this occasion, President Satpal Jindal, General Secretary Dr. Naib Singh Mander, Jagjit Singh Dhillon, Happy Singh Sethi, Dharampal Sharma and other members were present.
