Hoshiarpur:- Rotary Eye Bank and Corneal Transplantation Society under the leadership of President JB Bahl will organize an awareness camp in Shri Radha Govind Sneh Mandir, Shri Godham Gaushala, Adamwal Road, opposite Kushtha Ashram, Hoshiarpur to fill the eye donation pledge and spread awareness. On this occasion, President JB Bahl said that Shri Mad Bhagwat Katha is being organized in the said temple from April 12 to April 18 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm under the leadership of President Advocate Rakesh Marwaha.
During this, a booth will be set up by the Rotary Eye Bank specifically for filling the eye donation pledge. He said that the number of people suffering from corneal blindness is still very high in the country. Rotary Eye Bank has resolved that the members of the society will continue this campaign till the corneal blindness is eradicated from the country.
Chairman of the society and prominent social worker Sanjeev Arora said that till now the society has provided free light to 4163 people by getting their cornea transplanted and 30 post-mortem bodies have been sent to various medical colleges for research. He appealed that anyone who wants to fill the pledge for eye donation or body donation in this noble cause can reach there and become a part of this great work.
Those who fill the pledge for eye donation or body donation will be honored with a certificate by the society and a siropa by the temple committee. Principal DK Sharma, Veena Chopra, Krishan Kishore and others were also present on the occasion.
