Karnal, 27 August- Under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and Mera Yuva Bharat, with the aim of connecting youth with sports, promoting sports culture and staying away from drugs, 'Khelo India Samvad — Khel Ki Baat, PM Ke Saath' programme was organized at Dayal Singh College and Government College. About 500 youth participated enthusiastically in the programme and watched and listened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's youth dialogue and address. This information was given by District Youth Officer Anjali Chaudhary.
She told that the Prime Minister called upon youth to make sports a part of life, adopt sportsmanship and stay away from social evils like drugs and contribute to building a healthy, disciplined and developed India. During this, youth gave suggestions related to strengthening the country's sports ecosystem, preparing talents for 2036 Olympics, increasing youth leadership and participation in governance, empowerment of youth and drug-free India. Emphasis was also laid on expansion of sports facilities, identification of talents at rural level and need for better training and coaching.
### Interaction with players
In the programme, interaction of youth was held with emerging sports talents Aashi Kashyap (Lawn Tennis) and Angel Rana (Cycling). Both players shared their sports experience, struggle, discipline, fitness and journey of success and inspired youth to adopt sports as career and lifestyle.
### Guests inspired
Mayor Renu Bala Gupta said that sports are a powerful medium to develop discipline, self-confidence, leadership ability and positive thinking in youth. She called upon youth to spread awareness against drugs.
ADC Dr. Rahul Raiya said that youth are the biggest strength of developed India. With strong sports ecosystem, proper nurturing of talents and youth participation, India can achieve new heights on global sports platform.
Principal of Dayal Singh College Asima Gakkhar describing sports as an integral part of education appealed to youth to identify their talent and become partners in building developed India.
District Youth Officer Anjali Chaudhary said that this dialogue is an important platform to connect youth with the country's sports future and nation building. At the end of programme, youth took pledge to make sports a part of life, stay away from drugs and participate actively in building developed India.
