Una, December 21: A total of 39,312 children were administered the Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) dose on the first day of the Pulse Polio campaign being conducted in Una district.
Chief Medical Officer Una, Dr. S.K. Verma, said that 362 polio booths were set up across the district under the campaign, while 13 transit booths were established to cover children who were traveling. In addition, 10 mobile teams were also deployed to ensure that no child was left out.
He informed that a two-day door-to-door campaign will be conducted on December 22 and 23 to cover children who missed the polio dose on the first day, so that no eligible child is deprived of the polio vaccine.
Dr. Verma appealed to parents to ensure that all their children under five years of age receive the polio vaccine and cooperate in the polio eradication campaign.
