Una, June 28: A total of 36,447 children were administered polio drops on Sunday, the first day of the National Pulse Polio Campaign held in Una district. Dr. S.K. Verma, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Una, stated that 360 polio booths were set up across the district for the campaign.
Additionally, 16 transit booths were established to cover children who were traveling, while 8 mobile teams were deployed to ensure that children who might have been missed were reached.
He informed that Health Department teams would conduct a door-to-door drive to administer polio drops to children who missed the dose on the first day for any reason, ensuring that no eligible child in the district remains unvaccinated against polio.
Dr. S.K. Verma appealed to parents to cooperate with the visiting health teams if their child under the age of five missed the dose on the first day, and to help make the polio eradication campaign a success by ensuring every child receives the polio drops.
