Karnal, November 25: Cooperation, Prisons, Elections, Heritage, and Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma stated that to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a developed India, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has set a target of establishing 150 new sugar mills in the country. In this regard, work is underway to establish a new sugar mill in Narayangarh, Haryana.
He informed that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has provided sugarcane farmers with the highest rate in the country at Rs. 415 per quintal. He will soon meet with him to discuss new incentive schemes for sugarcane farmers.
On Tuesday, Cooperation Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma inaugurated the 50th crushing season of the Karnal Cooperative Sugar Mill and the 42nd crushing season of the Shahabad Cooperative Sugar Mill online.
In Shahbad, Cabinet Minister Krishna Kumar Bedi, MP Naveen Jindal, and MLA Ramkaran Kala were present, while in Karnal, Chief Whip and Indri MLA Ramkumar Kashyap, Sugar Federation MD Shakti Singh, mill management, and sugarcane farmers were present.
Dr. Sharma stated that the cooperative sector plays a crucial role in achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047. He directed the mill management to take special care of sugarcane farmers and ensure they face no difficulties. He stated that the BJP's central and state governments are farmers' governments, and everyone from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has always prioritized farmers' interests.
On this occasion, Captain Shakti Singh, Managing Director of the Haryana Cooperative Sugar Mills Federation Limited, said that the start of the crushing season is a matter of great joy. He expressed his gratitude to the farmers for their continued supply of sugarcane even during COVID-19. He noted that the Karnal Sugar Mill is equipped with advanced technological facilities and has received numerous national awards. He also assured farmers of providing all necessary facilities.
Karnal Sugar Mill Managing Director Aditi congratulated everyone on the launch of the 50th crushing season and said that the mill will work together with farmers to achieve further progress. She encouraged farmers to increase sugarcane production.
At the event, Captain Shakti Singh honored Chief Whip and Indri MLA Ramkumar Kashyap, and Managing Director Aditi presented Captain Shakti Singh with a memento.

Farmers honored
Karnal Sugar Mill honored the first farmers to bring sugarcane this season—Jagmeet, son of Jagmal (village Phusgarh), Kaushal, son of Baburam (Sadarpur), and Naresh, son of Kanwar Pal (Sadarpur).
Farmers Jagmeet, son of Jagmal (Phusgarh), Baruram, and Ravi Dutt, who produced sugarcane using new technology, were also honored.
