Karnal, October 2: Vijayadashami, also known as Dussehra, was celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country today. MLA Jagmohan Anand attended the Dussehra festival as the chief guest at the Dussehra Ground near Namaste Chowk, Sector 4, Karnal.

Special guests at the event included Mayor Renu Bala Gupta, Brij Bhushan Gupta, and Chairperson Megha Bhandari. On this occasion, the chief guest burned the effigies of Ravana, Meghnath, and Kumbhakaran by pressing a remote control button. The pandal echoed with chants of "Jai Shri Ram."
Earlier, officials from the Shri Ramlila Sabha honored the chief guest by presenting him with a turban and a mattress, and other guests were honored with turban and mementos. The procession featured tableaux of Lord Ganesha, Goddess Durga, Hanuman, Radha Krishna, Ashok Vatika, and Ravana riding a Bullet motorcycle, all of which were captivating and a center of attraction.
On this occasion, MLA Jagmohan Anand stated that Vijayadashami symbolizes the victory of truth, righteousness, and goodness over falsehood, arrogance, oppression, and evil. According to religious beliefs, on this day, Lord Rama killed Ravana, the symbol of irreligion, oppression, and injustice. He stated that Dussehra symbolizes the victory of truth over falsehood, or good over evil. By killing Ravana, Lord Rama sent the message of victory of righteousness over unrighteousness to the entire world.
He stated that many evils lurk within us today, which need to be eradicated so that a better society can be built. He stated that on this day, we should all pledge to permanently eradicate any evil, deceit, or fraud within ourselves on this Vijayadashami.
On this occasion, Mayor Renu Bala Gupta said that for years, this day of Vijayadashami has been celebrated as the end of evil. Therefore, we should all abandon all evil within ourselves and focus on rebuilding. Present on this occasion were ACGM Mr. Sudhir, Councilor Sankalp Bhandari, President of Shri Ramlila Sabha Regd. Kapil Garg, General Secretary Gaurav Garg, Treasurer Manish Diwan, Manager Anuj Jaiswal, members Ankit Garg, Raghav Garg, Umesh Gupta, and other dignitaries.
