Mohali- Hours after real estate businessman-turned-politician Ranjit Singh Gill joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a team of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau raided his house and offices in Mohali and Kharar on Saturday morning.
Gill was not available for comment, but his close associates confirmed the development and termed it as political vendetta. According to a BJP leader, there was constant pressure on Gill to join the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), due to which he allegedly joined the BJP party late on Friday night.
The leader, who was present at the official residence of Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini in Chandigarh when Gill joined, claimed, "That is why he suddenly joined the BJP and by morning, the Vigilance Bureau was at his doorstep." More details are awaited in this regard.
