He said rescue teams were at the scene to rescue people trapped under the rubble. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on the social media platform Telegram, "Missile attack. Directly on a residential building. People are buried under the rubble.
All services are at the scene.’ Pictures from the scene showed smoke rising from a damaged building and debris strewn on the ground. Tkachenko said at least 27 locations in Kiev were hit, with the worst damage in the Solominsk and Svyatoshynsk districts.
Meanwhile, Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Monday it had shot down 32 Ukrainian drones overnight. Local governor Oleg Malenchenko said a drone strike had set fire to an industrial site in Russia’s Penza region. He did not immediately provide further details, saying only that there were no casualties.
