Only the wealthy members of the Dalit community are repeatedly enjoying the benefits of reservation.

Leaders of the General Category political wing, Jasvir Singh Gadand, Gurmanjit Singh, Jagdish Singh, Dilbag Singh, Harchand Singh Fatehgarh Sahib, Avtar Singh Patiala, Ashok Kumar, Sarinder Singh Basi, and Davinderpal Singh Jalandhar, issued a joint press statement, stating that changing reservation policies is a key need of the hour. Because for the past 75 years, only a handful of people have repeatedly benefited from these benefits, the standard of living of genuine Dalits has not been raised.
Jasvir Singh Gadand, State President of the General Category political wing, stated that the government has not determined the creamy layer limit within the SC category, and therefore, only the wealthy members of this category are repeatedly enjoying this benefit, while poor Dalits are left out. Because wealthy Dalits, being better off in terms of luxuries and comforts, lag behind poor Dalits in merit. Consequently, the benefits of reservation are not reaching the truly needy, leading to the rich becoming richer and the poor becoming poorer.
The Agu also stated that when people from the reserved category reach high positions such as the Chief Justice of India and the President, the basis of reservation should be linked to the economy rather than caste, so that the standard of living of the poor can be raised. Wealthy Scheduled Caste members should stop taking advantage of reservations and other benefits meant for their poorer brethren, so as to create an equal society.
The Agu demanded from the Central Government and the Punjab Government that the creamy layer limit be fixed within the Backward Classes and Scheduled Castes. The basis of reservation should be made economic rather than caste, and reservations for promotions should be completely abolished.
