Kathmandu- An Indian national has been arrested here on charges of smuggling gold from Tribhuvan International Airport. According to the police, 48-year-old Ronak Madani was stopped during security checks at the arrival lounge of the airport. After which he was examined.
According to the Nepal Police, the man Madani was taken to a nearby hospital where an X-ray of his body revealed that he had hidden three packets of gold inside his anus.
The police further said that the three packets contained a total weight of 835 grams of gold and Madani had reached Kathmandu from Mumbai by an Indigo Airlines flight. The police handed him over to the airport customs department for further examination.
