Ludhiana- Although the threat of floods has ended in the state, the people of Sasrali village in Ludhiana are still not able to sleep peacefully. The situation is that the water of the Sutlej river is now flowing through their fields. The river has changed its course and turned towards the fields of the farmers. The villagers' troubles are continuously increasing.
The river is eroding 5 to 7 acres of farmers' land every day. The farmers are unable to do anything even if they want to. On the demand of the farmers, the administration has now sought help from the army in this matter. At the behest of Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain, SDM Jasleen Kaur has written a letter to the army and asked the engineering department team to help.
Actually, the water level of the Sutlej river in the Sasrali area is very low, but due to the rapid flow of water, the water has changed its course. Where crops were grown a month or two ago, now there is fast flowing water.
Due to the fast speed of the water, it is hitting the ground daily. The place where the villagers visit after seeing it a day before, some part of the river becomes muddy overnight. Due to this, the villagers of Sasrali are worried.
