Nawanshahr/Banga - According to the guidelines issued by the Department of Social Security and Women and Child Development, Punjab and Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman, 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' campaign is being run by the District Program Office from October 2 to October 11 on the International Girl Child Day.
Under which, the birthday of little girls was celebrated by cutting a cake in Anganwadi Center 1 under Ward No. 6 Kajla Road of Banga Block. At the same time, the mothers of the girls were given information about the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme. During the program, Santosh DO, present from the Child Protection Unit, gave information about the POCSO Act and sponsorship and foster care scheme related to children. And appealed to inform on Child Line number 1098 for all types of problems related to children and appealed against child begging, child labor, child marriage.
Coordinator of Mahila Hub Supriya Thakur told about the facilities provided by the government for girls and One Stop Center Himshikha told about the facilities available to women under one roof like medical, police facility, counseling, food etc. Finally, a baby kit was given to the child. During the program, supervisors of the concerned block Harkanwal Kaur and Kulwinder Kaur along with Anganwadi workers were also present.
