Garhshankar-with the Punjab government providing essential services to the people and keeping festivals in priority, District Health Officer Dr. Lakhvir Singh and the food security team today took samples of various sweets from seven sweet shops in Garhshankar and Mahilpur. Especially when a raid was conducted at the Baldeep sweet shop in Mahilpur, they were stunned to see that the prepared gulab jamun contained a large number of dead flies. In addition, the kitchen was very dirty and the rest of the sweets were also lying naked, on which flies were spinning. Food safety officers Vivek Kumar, Ram Lubhaya, Naresh Kumar and Gurvinder Sane from the media wing were also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, the district health officer said that famous sweet shops like Bikaneri sweet shop, lovely sweet shop, new ramsanj sweet shop in Mahilpur and Garhshankar were raided and especially the kitchens were examined. He rebuked all the sweet shop owners and said that if cleanliness was not found during the raids, large-scale legal action would be taken. On this occasion, he said that seven samples have been taken from the shops, in which samples of Barfi, khoya, rasgulle, Gulab Jaman have been sent to the lab for examination. He directed all those shopkeepers to obtain the necessary licenses and restrictions under the food safety and Standards Act and said that those who have passed the renewal date should also be renewed, otherwise action will be taken. He ordered the FBO that a license was a must for every shop. If a shopkeeper does not have a license, he can be fined heavily or the shop can be sealed. He further said that licenses are also necessary for medical storekeepers as they also sell many food products. He said that a license is necessary for shopkeepers with sales of more than 12 lakh. The one-year fee is Rs 2,000 and less will have to be registered. 100 for one year and 500 for five years is the government fee. The mission tandrust launched by the Punjab government will be implemented to provide good and clean food to the people.
