
PEC Fraternity Marked the Auspicious Festivities of Mahashivratri
Chandigarh: 12th March, 2024: Punjab Engineering College (PEC) continued its vibrant Mahashivratri festivities on 11th and 12th March, building upon the auspicious energy that began on the 8th of March which included a series of traditional rituals including Navgrah Puja, Kirtan by Bhajan Kirtan Mandli, PEC, and Prasad distribution. The day commenced with a soul-stirring Bhajan Kirtan performed by the college’s music club. The melodic strains of devotional songs filled the air, creating an atmosphere of reverence and unity.

The highlight of the event was a captivating session on Spirituality and Science, led by BK Shri Yogesh Sharda Ji, a seasoned practitioner of Raja Yoga meditation. He emphasized that science and spirituality are not mutually exclusive; rather, they converge at the core of human existence. He outlined five transformative stages: observation, contemplation, decision-making, action, and life manifestation. Breaking free from self-imposed limitations, he encouraged attendees to unlearn and relearn, fostering a quiet mind.
Following this enlightening discourse, Shri Ramnik Bansal Ji, a distinguished faculty member at the Art of Living, took the stage. Shri Ramnik Bansal Ji is an IIT IIM Alumnus who mentors and trains youth and working professionals in various life skills. He advocated for introspection, urging students to carve out time for self-reflection amidst their academic pursuits. He challenged the herd mentality, encouraging independent thought and decision- making. The Art of Living Course, he explained, could serve as a powerful tool for stress management and better decision-making.
“Today, on March 12th, the enchanting melodies of Bhajan Kirtan filled the air as Shri Mati Seema Ji and her Mandali created a captivating atmosphere that left everyone spellbound.” The event concluded with a vishaal bhandara, witnessing huge participation from employees of PEC and their families, and students. Organized by Dharmik Utsav Samiti, PEC, the event was a harmonious blend of spirituality and intellectual discourse, uniting students and faculty in exploration and celebration.
