Deputy Commissioner held a meeting with the concerned department regarding road safety.

Una, December 21 - A meeting regarding road safety was organized under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Raghav Sharma. In the meeting, regarding road safety, instructions were given to the concerned department to identify accident prone places on NH and improve them. Apart from this, instructions were given to install speed breakers at link road junctions so that accidents can be reduced and traffic can be simplified. He instructed the PWD department to implement the road safety road map.

In the meeting, regarding road safety, instructions were given to the concerned department to identify accident prone places on NH and improve them. Apart from this, the DC said in the meeting that the Good Samaritan should be introduced by helping the person injured in a road accident. He said that under the Good Samaritan law, the police will not harass the person helping the injured during the investigation. It has been made necessary to provide immediate treatment to the injured in the hospital without any formality. He appealed to the people to help the person injured in a road accident without any hesitation. He asked the police department to give the list of such Good Samaritan persons to the Regional Transport Officer so that the persons who helped could be honored. He also instructed the CMO to keep the ambulance patient vehicles in active mode so that if necessary, they can immediately reach the incident site to help the injured.
Apart from this, while reviewing the safe school vehicles in the meeting, it was said that the buses should ensure that they follow the standards set for safe school vehicle rules. He instructed all the SDMs to regularly check the documents of school buses. If buses are being operated against the prescribed rules, then strict action should be taken against them. 30 such schools have been identified in the district which are adjacent to the road where there is a possibility of an accident occurring when school students cross the road. He instructed the concerned departments to ensure installation of speed breakers and sign boards near the identified schools.
On this occasion, SDM Bangana Manoj Kumar, SDM Una Vishwa Mohan Dev Chauhan, SE PWD GS Rana, CMO Dr. Sanjeev Verma, RTO Ashok Kumar and other officers were present.
